Why do I need this medicine?

Bromhexine is a mucolytic. It helps break down mucus and clear chest in conditions associated with excessive mucus production, such as in common cold, flu and infections of the airways.

How do I take this medicine?

Take Bromhexine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.

The dose for a child is different from the adult dose. Be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving this medicine to a child.

Bromhexine may be taken with or without food. Try to take it at the same time each day.

If you are using the oral solution or syrup, shake the bottle well before you take it to ensure that the liquid is evenly mixed. Use the measuring spoon or cup provided to measure out your prescribed dose.
