Why do I need this medicine?

Hydrocortisone helps to relieve itch and minor skin irritations. It can also relieve symptoms caused by dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis.

Hydrocortisone belongs to a group of medicines called steroids.

 

How do I use this medicine?

Apply Hydrocortisone exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not apply more often or over a larger area than instructed by your doctor. Do not use for a longer period of time than instructed by your doctor.

Wash and dry your skin gently before applying Hydrocortisone.

Apply a thin layer sparingly to the affected area. Rub it in gently until it disappears. Do not cover, wrap or bandage the area, unless instructed by your doctor.

Do not apply Hydrocortisone near the eye area. If Hydrocortisone accidentally gets into your eyes, flush your eyes with clean water immediately. Alert your doctor if you start to have any problems with your eyes.

Do not apply on a child’s skin unless instructed by the child’s doctor. If you are applying Hydrocortisone on your child, do not use tight-fitting diapers or non-breathable materials.

Do not use Hydrocortisone for anything else other than the purpose instructed by your doctor.
